DEFINITIONS:
The “market” indices aim to measure the evolution of the value of the last 14 vintages.
They measure the evolution of the average values and, therefore, the medium-term trend of the most recent and available vintages.
The “price” indices (WD Bordeaux in a given vintage) measure the evolution of prices and are calculated on a constant basis over time.
The WD Bordeaux 90 market index corresponds to the global annual value in millions of euros of the last 14 vintages (excluding primeurs) of the 90 largest Bordeaux wines, excluding early growths.
The WD Bordeaux 1CC market index corresponds to the global annual value in millions of euros of the last 14 vintages (excluding primeurs) of the top 10 classified or assimilated Bordeaux growths (Angélus, Ausone, Cheval Blanc, Haut-Brion, Lafite- Rothschild, Latour, Margaux, Mouton-Rothschild, Pavie, Pétrus)
The WD Bordeaux 100 market index corresponds to the sum of the WD Bordeaux 90 and WD Bordeaux 1CC indices, that is, the 100 greatest Bordeaux growths over 14 vintages, that is, a total of 1,400 wines.
These indices are calculated from the market price, constantly over time, and take into account annual stocks and production volumes.
