Tyson Stelzer, The Famous Critic Of Sparks

Tyson Stelzer is a multi-award winning wine writer, television presenter and international speaker. He was named the 2015 International Wine and Spirits Communicator of the Year at the IWSC Awards, the 2013 Australian Wine Communicator of the Year and the 2011 International Champagne Writer of the Year at the Louis Roederer International Wine Writers’ Awards.

Tyson is the author of 15 wine books and a regular contributor to 15 magazines, including Wine Spectator, Decanter, Qantas The Australian Way and Australian Gourmet Traveler Wine.

He is the sparkling wine critic for the James Halliday Australian Wine Companion and a contributor to Jancis Robinson’s The Oxford Companion to Wine.

He is an advisor to Qantas Airways First Class and Business Class champagne selection. As an international speaker, he has participated in wine conferences in the UK, Italy, Japan, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. He is a regular judge and chairman at wine shows across Australia and is the co-creator, with British wine writer Matthew Jukes, of The Great Australian Red Competition and The Great New Zealand Pinot Noir Classification.

He has won the award for Best Food and Wine Writing at the Australian Food Media Awards and was a finalist for Best Food and Wine Guide Book at the Le Cordon Bleu World Food Media Awards.

In fact, Tyson Stelzer is many things.

He recently marked and classified 12 champagnes that he considers the best in the world.
