The only wine from the Southwest with 3 stars in the prestigious Revue du Vin de France
Camin Larredya is a family estate located in the Jurançon appellation, south of Pau. The Grussautes have a small but remarkable vineyard. The 9.5 hectares, planted by Jean-Marc’s father in 1970, are terraced and set on steep, curving slopes that form an amphitheater.
This former rugby player combines the strength of the Jurançon terroirs with the precision of the mix. Jean Marc Grussaute’s family has been making Jurançon for several generations at Domaine Larredya. Its headquarters are in La Chapelle Rousse, at the opposite end of the appellation from Domaine Cauhapé, so the wines are stylistically very different.
The wines coming from the steep slopes, here on the eastern edge of Jurançon, have a fresh, mineral quality and age very well. It is a small domain of 9.5 hectares, including one hectare of 40-year-old vines.
Jean-Marc Grussaute’s wines, both sweet and dry, are amazing, the sweets have a perfect balance and we have loved the new cuvée costa blanca dry.
On the palate : elegant and harmonious, perfectly balanced, chalky with notes of rhubarb. A long, tense, mineral (chalk) and extremely digestible finish.
Limited quantity: It is a plot of 1.2 ha
